Bret Shouldn't Go Out of Town

Before my redecorating

My little helper

The finished project, the wall on the left looks

white in the picture, but it is actually tan and

blends better than this picture shows!

Ok so Bret had to go to a training in St. Louis for a week so I decided to keep myself busy I would redecorate our family room. Isn't that what everyone does??? I first decided that I needed to repaint, yes we had professional painters already paint the room, but I wanted to spice it up and paint 3 of the walls. Then I decided the room needed an entertainment center. I have been looking for one for a few months, but I finally decided to pull the trigger and purchased it. I am very impulsive so all of this redecorating only lasted a day because when I get something in my mind it needs to be done right away!!! I painted and did everything on Monday...great so now what was I supposed to do for the rest of the week, real smart Kelly. When Bret got home the entertainment center wasn't in yet and when he saw my painting he said he didn't like it, I was soooo mad. He said it looked like his grandpa's apartment. Ok so at this point I really wanted him to go back to St. Louis. However, once the entertainment center was put in he told me that he loved it. Not really do I care what he thinks, but no one likes to hear all of the hard work was for nothing. So here are a few pictures of the before and after as well as my paint helper.

I Shouldn't Be Allowed to Drive

Ok so Saturday morning I woke up and was so excited to be at home and have no plans for the day. I played with Mackenzie, went for a run and then decided to load her up in the car to go SHOPPING. I first had to stop and get gas, my least favorite thing on the planet to do and then we were going to be on our way. I was waiting to exit the gas station and there was a lot of ongoing traffic and I was on the phone with my mom so I decided just to sit there for a minute, no one was behind me, so this way I could finish my conversation and then be on the way. When out of NOWHERE something, still don't know what it was, flew at my drivers side window. I was completely stunned, I didn't know what to do, I looked up and a van with a flat tire went up the curb infront of me and sped around the corner. I told my mom I almost just died and I would have to call her back. I pulled back into the gas station and got out to look at my car, I didn't notice a great deal of damage so for a second I thought I was going crazy. Then a bunch of people came running over to my car to see if I was ok and said that they had never seen anything like that before. Before you know it I went after the lady only to find her parked in the back of an apartment complex where the police had found her. She had hit another car and sped away and all of the debris had hit my car as she was trying to get away.
So it gets better, Bret comes to meet us, yes Mackenzie was in the car, but she was as happy as could be singing Mamma Mia like nothing had happened. Bret had asked if I was ok and I told him that the back of my head was hurting and before I knew it I was being placed on a stretcher, taped down, neck brace on, and Mackenzie screaming bloody murder. This of course made me panic and I had an anxiety attack. They then loaded me in the ambulance where they took me to the hospital gave me lots of meds and sent me home to sleep, and sleep and sleep.
Today I woke up and am doing well. I thank my lucky stars that our car got hit just where it did because it could have been so much worse, and my beautiful little girl is as healthy as ever. But I really think someone is trying to tell me to stay off of the road, who else has been hit more than once when they were PARKED????

Mackenzie is Abby Cadabby

So we went shopping for Mackenzie's halloween costume today. She has wanted to be a ladybug for about 3 weeks, so of course we go to get the costume and the little princess changed her mind. My dear darling has now decided that she wants to be Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street. She was so excited about her costume that she had to put the entire outfit on the second we walked in the door. Mackenzie's only concern about her costume was that she did not want to have to fly, so once I told her that she could just be a walking fairy she was ecstatic. She went on a parade around the house waving to all of the people, and yes I had to join her.

The Arizonians Have Entered the Blogging World

Ok so I have decided to come into the 21st century and start blogging. Our life this past year has been a whirlwind and I thought it would be easier just to post our everday activities so everyone could share in our lovely everyday life. So here it goes, we moved to Arizona in December of 2007 leaving everything that we knew and came to a state that my dad refers to as HELLS kitchen. Well I am happy to say that we made it through our first summer and no one got burned:) I started as a stay at home mom, then started my own stroller fitness business, then decided to add on part-time work as a speech therapist again. I like to tell Bret that I have many jobs: I am a business owner, speech pathologist, chef, mommy, wife and my favorite a domestic engineer. Bret is doing great at his new job and is keeping busy, it is his favorite time of year right now... Football season... and now he has decided that he is a football player as well and is starting on a team with some friends, God help us all. Mackenzie is growing by the second, literally. She is the tallest 3 year old alive, but also the cutest. She started preschool a few weeks ago and she now goes every Tues and Thursday from 8-11, she absolutely loves it. She still has a wide imagination and still plays with her imaginary friends, sissy, fada, jeff and grandpa. I am glad to say that she is playing with other kids and is talking about them as well... thank goodness. So we are doing great and will keep you updated with our daily activities whether they be good or bad!!!! Love ya all
